About Empire Golf Inc.
Empire Golf, one of the first golf course management companies
based in Northern California, is known for its multitude of golf
course management capabilities and its superior customer service.
Led by company president Rod Metzler, Empire Golf provides management,
consulting, and planning services to both the Public and Private
sector. Since 1987, Empire Golf's client list has grown to include
private, semi-private, and public golf courses in Northern California
through lease, ownership, new construction, management and consulting
arrangements.
Our people: our most valued asset
Empire Golf believes the key to dependable management and successful
golf operations is personnel. Our company employs over 175 extensively
trained people, including PGA Golf Professionals, PGA Apprentice
Professionals, and Class "A" members of the Golf Course
Superintendents Association of America. Our employees understand
that we are in the service business and are dedicated to outstanding
customer service and value at each of our properties. And because
of programs such as financially supported continued education,
Empire Golf has a very high employee retention rate.
The players: technology & efficiency
Golf facility operations is a labor intensive, predominantly cash
business. It requires daily analysis from management to remain
profitable. Empire Golf has incorporated an advanced computerized
operating system at all of our properties, including an automated
tee sheet that is integrated with a point-of-sale system. Each
golf course system transmits data to our central office daily,
where all bookkeeping functions are performed. This allows management
to review, on a daily basis, current sales, inventories, and ongoing
profit margins and ensures uniform record keeping procedures at
all operations. Empire Golf company principals and corporate staff
work closely with key personnel at each facility. This includes
daily communication as well as frequent site visits.
Operations philosophy: “hands on”
Empire Golf places a high value on attention to detail at all
of its properties. As a regional management company, Empire Golf
believes in controlled business growth by choosing not to acquire
properties and/or contracts at a rate that will sacrifice the quality of
the product we offer. Successful implementation of a business plan
for newly acquired properties takes a tremendous amount of focus
on the part of company principals, corporate staff, and on site
management. We will not compromise this “hands on” approach from
all levels of the company for quantity sake.
